| A.) Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management (PGDPHM) | ||||||

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India under NRHM is supporting continuing Medical Education Programme for capacity building of medical officers in Public Health Management. Under this, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) Delhi has launched Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management (PGDPHM) at Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) centres at Ahmedabad, Delhi, Hyderabad & partnering with other Institutions viz., National Institute of Health & Family Welfare (NIHFW) at Delhi, All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health (AIIH&PH) at Kolkata, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) at Wardha Maharashtra and Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) at Puducherry. IIPH center at Bhuvaneswar is likely to start the course during the year 2010-11. Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh is unable to start programme during current year. This Programme is 1 year full residential course wherein in-service doctors are nominated by respective State Governements. The course fee of PGDPHM Programme has been fixed at Rs. 2.50 lakhs per candidate for the year 2010-11. The List of Institutes and States allotted are as under. |

| B.) Post Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (Distance Learning) | ||||||

Other Programme supported by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Govt. of India under NRHM is Post Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine Course to empower the doctors in PHCs with knowledge and skills in Clinical Management of all types of patients with aim to resolve more cases at their level. This programme had been specially taken up by NRHM for EAG States namely Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Rajasthan. The course is for MBBS doctors conducted by CMC Vellore, Tamil nadu. This is 2 year distance education with three contact programmes of ten days each. NHSRC, Delhi is coordinating the programme and you may contact CMC, Vellore, Tamil Nadu for further details and for agreement with them. The course fee per candidate is Rs. 1.35 lakhs including fees, travel, stay for contact programme etc. The list of Contact Persons/Addresses for seeking details of above two courses may be seen at Annexure - A & B. |
