PRIZES FOR HINDI BOOKS (2001-2002)

 

 

With a view to encouraging the authors of original books in Hindi and translators of Hindi translations of books from Indian Languages and English on the subjects specified below, the Govt. of India in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare have in operation for the past several years a scheme of awards to such authors/translators. Now under the scheme 2001-2002, original books in Hindi & Hindi translations of books from Indian Languages and English will be selected for the awards as indicated below:-

 

  1. For original useful books in Hindi on medicine & public health:
Ist prize (1) Rs.25,000/-
IInd prize (1) Rs.20,000/-
IIIrd prize(1) Rs.15,000/-
IVth prize(1) Rs.10,000/-
Consolation prize(3) Rs. 5,000/-(each)
  1. For Hindi translations of medical text-books written in English or Indian Languages by eminent doctors / authors:
Ist Prize (1) Rs.20,000/-
IInd prize (1) Rs.15,000/-
IIIrd prize (1) Rs.10,000/-
  1. The books should be on any of the following subjects:-
  1. Primary Health Care
  2. Community Medicine
  3. Maternity and Child Health
  4. Public Health
  5. Hygiene and Sanitation
  6. Prevention of Communicable Diseases
  7. Manuals/Text-Books for Para-Medical Workers
  8. Nutrition
  9. Prevention of Disabilities
  10. Mental Health
  11. Indian System of Medicine
  12. Population Control
  13. Immunization Programme
  14. AIDS Control Programee
  1. The selection of books for awards will be made by an Evaluation Committee whose decision shall be final.
  2. Entries are invited for the awards under the above cited scheme. Only such books which have not less than 100 pages and which have been published during the period from Ist April, 1997 to 15 March, 2002 will be considered.
  3. Books written and published with the financial assistance from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, any State Govt. or W.H.O. and books awarded by any Institution shall not be considered.
  4. Hindi translation of books from regional & English Languages done by the members of medical profession shall get priority.
  5. If any writer submits more than one book for consideration, his only one book which will be the best, will be considered for award.
  6. The writer will have to submit two copies of the original book from which the translation has been done, alongwith the translated book.
  7. Authors may fill in the proforma appended below and send seven copies of the books to Director(O.L.), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Room No. 435-C, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi - 11, so as to reach him by 15 March, 2002.
  8. Books received after the last date will not be considered.
  9. Books received for awards will not be returned.
